Anglican Church Women~ACW
The ACW exists to unite all Anglican women within the parish in the fellowship of worship, learning and sharing. Our purpose is to deepen and strengthen our lives and lead us into fuller Christian service.
We meet the first and third Monday of each month (excluding July and August) at 1:30 p.m. The first Monday is a business meeting and the third Monday is a sewing/stamp cutting get-together.
We make donations to charities, support our church, send baby blankets (which we make at our sewing sessions) to St. Monica House and enjoy a variety of speakers.
We enjoy each others' company and loyal friendships. Anyone interested in attending our meetings would be most welcome.
Essex Deanery ACW Annual Meeting, Saturday, April 25, 2015 The Annual meeting was held at St. Mary's this year. Muffins and beverages were served in the morning, followed by Holy Eucharist with Archdeacon Jane and The Rev. Victoria Mouck, ACW Chaplain. The annual meeting was held in the church, while members of our ACW prepared the luncheon in the parish hall. After the luncheon, we had a presentation about the Lions Foundation of Canada, a group that provides leader dogs for people with physical and medical disabilities. Our guest, Lisa, brought her dog Pepsi, a Seizure Response Dog Guide. She demonstrated how Pepsi can bring her a phone, push her medical alert button, to name a few. The presentation was informative, heart warming and appreciated by all who attended. Another great event ACW Women!!

Quiet Day Wednesday, October 29, 2014
Eight members of St. Mary's ACW attended the Quiet Day at Christ Church in Colchester. A coffee/tea meet and greet began the day. At 10 o'clock we gathered in the church and celebrated the Eucharist with Archdeacon Jane and Reverend Victoria Mouck. After the service, we were given time to go outside to visit the chapel or take a walk, or just sit and reflect. Everyone brought a bag lunch which provided time for everyone to sit and enjoy conversation. Archdeacon Jane then spoke about the Blessings of Friendship. Her ideas were thought-provoking and elicited laughter, tears and topics for discussion. At the end of her talk, she shared a Recipe for Friendship. (Hopefully, it will appear in our Volume 2 Cookbook in 2015!) St. Mary's participants were very proud of Archdeacon Jane. She touched the hearts and minds of everyone involved.
